Caroline Garcia Choan, M.D.
Caroline G. Choan, M.D. was born in Boston, but raised in Los Angeles.
While working toward her B.S. degree in Biology at UCLA, she worked as the pathology department's research and autopsy assistant at Children's Hospital of Los Angeles for four years.
Dr. Choan received her M.D. from New York Medical College, then returned to L.A. to complete her internship in internal medicine at Cedars-Sinai Hospital. Her neurology residency was completed at LA CountyHarbor-UCLA Hospital in Torrance.
Dr. Choan remained at Harbor-UCLA for her fellowship in neurophysiology, which included pediatric and adult electroencephalography, electromyography, and brainstem auditory, visual, and somatosensory evoked potential interpretation.
Dr. Choan is a Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, and the National Board of Medical Examiners.

Dean A. Le, M.D., Ph.D. graduated with a BS in Chemistry from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He obtained both his M.D. and Ph.D. from Stanford University.
Dr. Le's Internship and Residency were completed at Massachusetts General Hospital. Dr. Le was a Stroke Fellow, then became an Instructor in Neurology at Harvard Medical School. He was also on staff at Massachusetts General Hospital as a Stroke Specialist.
Dr. Le is a Board Certified Neurologist with clinical interests in general neurology, headaches, stroke and pain. Prior to his relocation to Southern California, Dr. Le was in solo practice in the Boston, Massachusetts area.
Dr. Le is married, and he and his wife Vana have three children. He enjoys traveling and seeing Broadway shows.

Michael W. Shen, M.D. is a native Californian, born from Taiwanese immigrants. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of California at San Diego where he graduated magna cum laude. Dr. Shen then went east to Boston where he obtained his M.D. at Tufts University School of Medicine, and where he received honors in neurology.
Dr. Shen returned to Southern California for an internship at Kaiser Permanente. He completed his residency in neurology at Harbor-UCLA where he was Chief Resident during his final year. Dr. Shen remained at Harbor-UCLA for a fellowship in neurophysiology, which included training in performing and interpreting nerve conduction studies and electromyography (NCS and EMG), electroencephalograms, (EEG) and brainstem auditory, visual and somatosensory evoked potentials (BAER, VER, SSEP).
Dr. Shen is board certified in neurology and board eligible in neurophysiology, and joined the practice in 2006.
He enjoys practicing general neurology, performing and interpreting NCS/EMGs and interpreting EEGs.
He has been involved as the primary investigator in trials, including the AMARANTH trial conducted at our office.
Dr. Shen is married. He enjoys playing beach volleyball, is an avid Laker fan and is an annual passholder to Disneyland.

Kiet Loc, M.D.
Kiet Loc, MD, was born in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, and came to this country with her family at age 10. They settled in the San Diego area, where Dr. Loc lived as a young girl. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of California, San Diego, where she graduated Cum Laude with a BS in Bioengineering. She received her M.D. from Penn State College of Medicine. She completed her training in California and at the University of Arizona, where she served as Chief Resident. Dr. Loc completed a Stroke Fellowship at the University of California, San Diego prior to joining Saddleback Valley Neuroscience Medical Group.
Dr. Loc is a Board Certified Neurologist whose interests include managing complex stroke patients as well as general neurology. She especially enjoys caring for patients in the hospital environment.
Dr. Loc resides in South Orange County with her husband and children.
